Harlequin Activity with a hardwood oak surface
Shakespeare's Globe - Sackler Studios
When Shakespeare’s Globe looked at floors for their new education and rehearsal centre, Sackler Studios, they chose a Harlequin Activity floor with a hardwood oak surface finish.
“It’s a product I am particularly familiar with due to working in and creating different spaces over the years and was something our acoustic consultant was keen on using. From a look and feel as a working surface and as part of the sound separation between all the studios I’m tremendously pleased.” Andy Scorgie, Head of Facilities Management, Shakespeare's Globe
“Well over 1,000 dancers, musicians and singers have performed their magic on those Riverdance stages, safe in the knowledge that Harlequin Cascade works as well and as consistently as they do!... Harlequin Cascade allows all our performers to deliver exhilarating performances in complete safety.” Julian Erskine, Senior Executive Producer, Riverdance
Harlequin Liberty & Harlequin Cascade
Madam Zhao Ruheng - National Centre for the Performing Arts
The first bi-annual International Ballet and Choreography Competition took place in Beijing in July 2011 and was successfully hosted by the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA).
“With the dedicated efforts from the NCPA by giving the competition three magnificent stages, it has not only shown support and passion for dance but created an opportunity for dance innovation, exploration of new talent and enhancement of the research and communication of dance worldwide, benefitting competitors from over 20 countries."
“Harlequin Floors were one of our eager participants; as the competition has chosen Harlequin Liberty sprung floor for the main stage, as well as received generous sponsorship of Harlequin Cascade vinyl dance surfaces. This allowed contestants to perform with the total confidence that comes with knowing you are dancing on a first class Harlequin floor."
“We are looking forward to going into the next competition, taking place on 5th July 2013 at NCPA, Beijing with Harlequin on our side again.”
Madam Zhao Ruheng, Dance Artistic Director, National Centre for the Performing Arts
Harlequin Liberty & Harlequin Reversible
Madeleine Onne - The Hong Kong Ballet
At The Hong Kong Ballet, one of Asia’s premier ballet companies, they choose a Harlequin Liberty sprung floor with Harlequin Reversible vinyl surface finish.
“We use Harlequin to give our dancers one of the most important foundations required to create a good performance - confidence. Whether in soft or pointe shoes, our dancers can focus on their performance knowing that the floor is reliable and has just the right amount of spring. A quality floor is the basis on which creativity and excellence in ballet begins.” Madeleine Onne, Artistic Director, The Hong Kong Ballet
Wang Yuan Yuan - Beijing Dance Theater
"Beijing Dance Theater was established in 2008 and has completed eight major productions in three years. In 2011 we were invited by Hong Kong Art Festival to create 'Golden Lotus', which has been our biggest production this year. To match our backdrop, we chose Harlequin Reversible in combinations of red, white and black, which were not only amazing to dance on but gave a wonderful visual impact to the piece." Wang Yuan Yuan, Artistic Director, Beijing Dance Theater

Our stage floor is being put to the test daily by our students and can withstand the harsh climate conditions here in Vietnam.” Dave Porter, Director of Operations, United Nations International School of Hanoi
Julia H Moon - Universal Ballet
“When we visited Les Grands Ballet Canadiens while we were on tour in 2001, our dancers fell in love with their floors, which were Harlequin Studio. Ever since, Universal Ballet has danced on Harlequin in our studios at home, during our local performances and on our overseas tours. Our dancers feel at home in every theater around the world with Harlequin underfoot.” Julia H Moon, General Director, Universal Ballet
Harlequin WoodSpring & Harlequin Studio
John Slater - Phoenix Dance Theatre
Phoenix Dance Theatre is a contemporary dance company founded in 1981 and based in Leeds. They share a purpose-built facility equipped with Harlequin WoodSpring sprung floors with Harlequin Studio vinyl surface finishes.
“I’m very happy with the floors in the building. It’s actually very difficult to find a floor that has just the right amount of traction when barefoot. I’ve also used Harlequin a lot as a touring floor and I’m about to buy some more, the dancers and rehearsal director won’t allow me to buy anything else!” John Slater, Technical Manager, Phoenix Dance Theatre
