Engineered wood, also called mass timber or composite wood includes a range of derivative wood products which are manufactured by binding or fixing the strands, particles, veneers or boards of wood together with adhesives to form composite material. Engineered wood is engineered to precise design specifications which are tested to meet national and international standards and provide uniformity and predictability in their structural performance. Harlequin’s range of Engineered wood floors consist of cross ply layers glued one on top of the other with a top layer of real wood.

A Harlequin solid wood dance floor surface can be sanded and re-sealed a number of times over its life cycle making it a very durable dance surface and easy to maintain. A solid wooden dance floor not only looks stunning but offers the right level of traction, surface deflection and slip resistance for a dancer to feel completely at one with the floor.

Harlequin Activity is a ‘fully-floating’ sprung floor system without fixings to the sub-floor constructed using Harlequin’s proprietary ‘triple sandwich’ construction method, created over 30 years ago.

Harlequin Flexity is a cost-effective, self-install sprung floor panel system. Selected birch ply panels with shock-absorbing elastomer pads join together using Harlequin’s unique tongue and groove system.

Harlequin Liberty panels feature dual-density shock dampening elastomer pads, giving uniform and consistent shock dampening.

Harlequin WoodSpring is a premium sprung floor, a modern update of the traditional ‘basket weave’ construction. It is comprised of a layer of select plywood, a triple-layer of custom machined southern yellow pine with dual density elastomer blocks attached to the underside.
